Alex Hetherington recognised the need to create a new, cost-efficient, independent company, to provide a service specifically focusing on carbon management within the corporate sector. Carbon Calculated was born.
Carbon Calculated has a desire to change the perception of business leaders and their level of awareness of the impact their specific businesses are having on the global environment. Carbon Calculated has grown to incorporate clients on an international as well as local scale.

Carbon Calculated strives to push the envelope for best practice and remains up-to-date within the field through continued training with the GHG Management Institute, are a CDP Consultancy Partner and through membership with the Global Greenhouse Gas Network and other institutions such as the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). Alex and Nici are both trained in the GHG Protocol carbon accounting methodology through the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute.
