CarbonKnown is a customised software-as-a-service solution that allows a company to accurately calculate its GHG emissions for activities and equipment under which the company has operational control. These are typically emissions that are generated by a company's owned-facilities and equipment and include consumption of electricity.

CarbonKnown has been developed by South African-based carbon management and climate change consultancy, Carbon Calculated, and conforms to the GHG Protocol, the most widely used carbon accounting methodology worldwide.

By measuring in accordance to the GHG Protocol, a company is able to understand where GHG emissions lie within its organisation, identify hot
spots, and put systems in place tor reduction and decarbonisation. The CarbonKnown tool also has functionality to track costs and is granular enough to measure each facility through graphics and Excel tables.
